If you plan on being away for an extended period over the winter, or if you have a rental property that will be unoccupied, please make sure the temperature in the residence does not go below freezing

As the weather gets colder, please be aware:

Plumbing and water meters located against exterior walls, in unheated

basements and crawl spaces are particularly vulnerable to the cold

and can easily freeze in cold temperatures.

Homeowners are responsible for any damages

to the water meter in their home.

"The Customer is liable for any damages to the water meter

on his premises, and shall be billed for a new meter,

if the Authority is unable to economically

repair the damaged meter."
