As the weather gets colder, please be aware:
Plumbing and water meters located against exterior walls, in unheated
basements and crawl spaces are particularly vulnerable to the cold
and can easily freeze in cold temperatures.
Homeowners are responsible for any damages
to the water meter in their home.
"The Customer is liable for any damages to the water meter
on his premises, and shall be billed for a new meter,
if the Authority is unable to economically
repair the damaged meter."

- Repair broken or cracked basement windows.
- Make sure basement doors and windows are closed tightly

- Use properly applied heat tape or pipe insulation

- Be sure to remove all harmful cleaners and chemicals if there are children in the home.
